
As the Senior Manager – Compliance & Industrial Safety at Pearl Global (HK) Ltd., I play a key role in driving compliance excellence, workplace safety, and continuous improvement across our Bangladesh operations. I directly report to the Vice President – Compliance & Industrial Safety and have a dotted reporting line to the Assistant Vice President – Compliance, ensuring strategic alignment and consistent communication with leadership.
Since June 2024, my primary focus has been on enhancing internal audit performance, advancing safety initiatives, and strengthening our collaboration with global buyers such as Walmart, Inditex, and Mango.
Core Responsibilities:
Leading the Nirapon Safety Management Program
One of my major responsibilities is to oversee and manage the Nirapon Safety Management Program for Walmart-listed factories. My key activities include:
- Conducting internal audits to assess factory safety and compliance readiness.
- Developing guidelines and corrective action frameworks for continuous improvement.
- Conducting follow-ups and progress reviews to ensure sustainable results.
- Organizing meetings with factories to resolve issues related to non-participation and Third-Party Safety Verification (TSV).
Through consistent monitoring, engagement, and data-driven follow-ups, we have seen significant improvements in GAP Analysis reporting, factory participation, and audit outcomes. In cases of persistent non-compliance, factories were dissociated to uphold program integrity.
Achievement:
Transforming 17 Factories Under the 90-Day Safety Program: A key highlight of my tenure has been the successful development of 17 factories across various groups — including Standard, Silver Line, Birds, and Windy Group — under the 90 Days Safety Management Program.
These factories were upgraded from ‘Not Participant’ to ‘Acceptable’ status through structured guidance, close monitoring, and collaborative improvement initiatives. This milestone reflects our team’s commitment to building safer and more responsible workplaces across the supply chain.
Strengthening Compliance Across Tier 1 and Tier 2 Factories
Beyond Nirapon, I oversee compliance performance monitoring for Tier 1 and Tier 2 factories in Bangladesh, focusing on alignment with buyer-specific standards, local laws, and company ethical expectations.
Driving Internal Traceability for Inditex
To enhance transparency and accountability, I lead internal traceability audits for Inditex brands. These audits ensure that production routes are verified, records are accurate, and no unauthorized subcontracting occurs — reinforcing Pearl Global’s commitment to supply chain integrity.
Bridging Communication Across Global Offices
My responsibilities also include reporting internal audit findings and progress updates to both the India and USA offices. These reports help senior management make informed decisions, identify improvement areas, and strengthen buyer relationships.
Best Practice Highlight: GAP Analysis Enhancement
Under my leadership, we developed and implemented an improved GAP Analysis reporting process, which has now become a best practice within Pearl Global (HK) Ltd. This approach provides better visibility of factory progress, enabling proactive corrective actions and stronger audit readiness.
